Five Favourites (July)

I have never done a favourites blog post before, but I think I am going to start doing them every month! I often buy new products and love them, but I don't always know how I can incorporate them into a blog post. So here you are, five things I have been loving this month!

1. Whilst repurchasing the Soap and Glory 'One Heck of a Blot Powder' (which I have spoken about in a previous post) the Soap and Glory 'Wonder Bronze Shimmer Brick' caught my eye. It's so beautiful and helps to give me that summer glow. Some days after applying my base I will just dust it over my cheek bones, and I'm good to go! You could also use this shimmer brick as eye shadows.

2. The winged liner or just eye liner in general is something I have always struggled with. I love the way it looks but don't often do it because it takes me so much time. So when the Benefit 'they're Real! push-up liner' came out, I felt it was only right I tried it. In all honesty I still struggle with this liner, but no where near as much as I have struggled with other eye liner products in the past.

3. I have really been struggling with my skin lately (I will be doing a blog post about it soon enough). So I went into the Body Shop and picked up the 'Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser'. I can't really say that it has worked wonders with my skin, as my skin care is all a bit up in the air at the moment. However, I just love the way it makes my skin feel. I just pop two pumps of it into my hands and then massage it into my face. It leaves my skin feeling clean and gives it that fresh menthol feeling.

4. Another thing I have been loving is the Lush 'Ro's Argan Body Conditioner'. When I heard about these 'use in the shower body conditioners' I was a bit sceptical. So when I tried this out I was pleasantly surprised. You "smooth it over wet skin whilst bathing or showering, rinse off, then lightly towel dry yourself". Honestly it leaves me smelling lovely and my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. It also saves time, which is always a winner.

5. This favourite is a bit different to the previous ones. I have really been enjoying going to the nail shop and getting myself a manicure and a pedicure. It's just so nice to relax and have some me time, and since it's summer, why not?

Last time I went I had my nails painted with an OPI orange nail polish and I have fallen in love. Usually I go for pink or something more nude, so this was quite out of my comfort zone. I posted a picture on my Instagram so if you would like to see then click here.

I really hope you enjoyed this post! If you did then you can follow me on Google or bloglovin', and I will see you back here on my blog very soon!

P.S. I will be updating my Instagram more often. So if you would like to get to know me more and see what I get up to then be sure to follow me over there as well! :)

Spontaneous days are the best kind!

Spontaneous days are the best kind! On Thursday night Farzana (from textbookbeauty) and I decided that we would have a beach day the next day. So we woke up super early and headed for Brighton beach!

Our train from Clapham Junction (London) to Brighton only took 45minutes and return tickets costed us £23.50. We wondered why we hadn't thought of having a day at Brighton beach sooner, it's so close!

On arrival to Brighton station we went straight to Sainsbury's and picked up picnic food- sandwiches, crisps, other nibbles and plenty of water! We spent the majority of the day tanning, chilling out and eating on the beach. It was SO relaxing and SO relieving to get away from London for the day.

After spending time on the beach, we went on the Pier. I'm not gonna lie, we were a bit scared of the wobbly wooden planks! Never the less we had a fun time on the bumper cars and playing games in the arcades. To end our day in Brighton we walked around the area exploring and looking in some of the shops.

As a child I used to visit Brighton all the time as my Great Nannie used to live there. It holds many happy memories and it was lovely to go back and create more! I will definitely be visiting again this summer.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post as I last minute decided to put it together. Please feel free to leave me a comment! :) x

My experience at IMATS London 2014!

This year I went to IMATS (London) for the first time ever. Before I went I wasn't really sure what to expect, so I thought I would share my experience and give a few pointers to any one who may be thinking of going next year.

Before I went I wrote down a couple of things in my phone which I wanted to keep an eye out for. Most of it was either sold out or the brand didn't even exist at IMATS, but can we take a second to admire my organisation? hahaa.

When I arrived the line to get in was massive, however, it moved really quickly and I was in within 10 minutes. I had a walk around to see what was there (which I would recommend before buying anything). It was so overwhelming with all the products that I felt like I needed to be systematic about how I would conquer the jungle of makeup I had just walked into. Some counters were selling the same thing at different prices, for example; the 'Ben Nye Banana Powder'.

If you're anything like me then try and do some research into the brands that will be there. There were SO many stands selling makeup brushes, and after my shedding nightmare with the Zoeva brushes, (I'm exaggerating a tiny bit) I didn't fancy taking the risk with any brands that I had never heard of.

I went with my friend and we were able to tell each other "another highlighter isn't necessary" and "I think you should stop spending now!" It's always easier to tell someone else enough is enough rather than trying to tell yourself.

Something I would highly suggest is that you set a budget and stick with it. It's SO easy to get carried away at events like these. Breaking the bank may feel good at the time, but the aftermath could bite you back. I took cash with me, this helped because once the money was gone.. it was GONE.

It was a fantastic day and I definitely want to go back next year! It was also tiring, so make sure you wear comfortable clothing, foot wear and travel light. I took quite a big shoulder bag, which wasn't the best idea.

There were also many amazing things going on. So I have put together a little video to give you a taste of what it was like!

I plan to post more videos on YouTube, so please subscribe to my YouTube channel <3
