What's in Baby's Hospital Bag!

I had a baby girl! Today I wanted to share what is/was in my baby girls hospital bag. In my next post I'll share what I packed in mine.

I packed her things for the hospital, in what is now her changing bag. It's the Bugaboo Storksak Nylon Changing Bag in black. I really like the bag so far. I'll review it properly once I have been using it for a while. So watch this space if you're interested in that.

What's in my Baby's Hospital Bag:
6 vests
6 sleep suits
Cardigan
Large muslin blanket
Cellular blanket
12 nappies
Nappy bags
Fold up changing mar
Water-wipes
2 hats
Scratch mittens
Grooming kit
2 muslin squares
2 bibs
Soft toy

A few extra things I have packed in my bag for the baby:
Coat
Cosy blanket for going home
Extra nappies
Cotton wool pads

Essential:
Hospital notes
Car seat for the journey home
Handbag

I am a first time mum (FTM), so I had no idea what to pack. However, through watching 'What's in baby's hospital bag' videos, I was able to write a list and was well prepared for my littles ones arrival. I hope this post helps someone out there who was as clueless as I was at the start!

Now that I'm on maternity leave, I can finally get stuck back into blogging which makes me really happy. Over the last few years, studying and working definitely took over my life. I found it really difficult to juggle everything I wanted to do, so I had to prioritise. So you can expect to see loads more from me!

Please do leave a comment below. It would be lovely to network with other mummy's out there!

Take care x

How to get the perfect base for combination skin

I have struggled with my skin for quite some time, but finally.. I think I've got it. I will be talking about my skin care routine at a later date though. Now that I've finally got around to starting my YouTube Channel (which you should definitely check out here), I'm probably going to do a video on my skin care routine.

For now, lets talk about how I get the perfect base. If you've been reading my blog for a while you may have seen the post I did all about The Body Shops Instablur and the love I have for it. Let me tell you, it's still working wonders. I have combination skin, my cheeks are normal but I do get an oily t-zone and this completely mattifies it. I even wear it on non-makeup days.

The L'oreal True Match Foundation was recommended to me a while back, but I only just got around to buying it a few weeks ago. I usually get nervous when it comes to using a new foundation because I never know if I'll end up looking like a hot mess by the end of the day. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It's very light in consistency and soft on the skin and I am able to apply it using my fingers which I have found to work really well. It leaves my skin looking natural which I love and it doesn't make me get oily throughout the day, which is what I look for in a foundation.

The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer has been something I have always gone back to. It's perfect for concealing those dark circles and of course blemishes.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Definitely try out these products if you haven't already.

Zoeva Brush Set Review

I haven't blogged for some time, but finally.. I have a Zoeva Brush Set Review for you!

The brush set I have is called the Luxe Complete Set. The set contains five face brushes; 101 luxe face definer, 102 silk finish, 105 luxe highlight, 126 luxe cheek finish and the 142 concealer buffer. There are also ten eye brushes; 221 luxe soft crease, 224 luxe defined crease, 227 luxe soft definer, 228 crease, 230 luxe pencil, 231 luxe petit crease, 234 luxe smokey shader, 315 fine liner, 317 wing liner and the 322 brow line. They came with a zipped pouch which I have used to store my brushes and also as a makeup bag.

Here are some of my favourites:
102 silk finish brush- This is perfect for buffing in my foundation. It's a favourite and has been my 'go to' recently. It's extremely soft, as you would expect from a 'silk' finish brush. It applies my foundation in a way that doesn't make it look cakey and it leaves my skin looking like skin!
101 luxe face definer- I like to use this to apply powder. I have to admit I have experienced shedding with this particular brush, but it is very soft and does the job well.
221 luxe soft crease, 224 luxe defined crease, 227 luxe soft definer, 228 crease, 230 luxe pencil, 231 luxe petit crease and the 234 luxe smokey shader- I love all of the eye shading brushes. They apply eye shadows really well and the fact that there are so many is great; there is always a clean brush available for applying a new colour or blending.

These Zoeva brushes are very soft and are of a good quality. I have experienced a little shedding but only with one of these brushes, so nothing excessive. If you are new to makeup or are just looking for some affordable brushes I would definitely recommend these. They do the job well and some are very similar in shape to the MAC brushes. You can also buy these brushes individually. So if you don't want or need a whole set, that option is there!

I would rate these brushes 4/5

I hope you found this brush review helpful. If I missed anything, feel free to get in contact by posting a comment of sending me a tweet!

Do you have any makeup brush recommendations?

My First Birchbox

Receiving my Birchbox in the post was a lovely way to start my day and I was pleasantly surprised! What made the box feel special is the way everything was packaged. All of the bits I got came inside a cute draw string bag, which was inside a little box. Not only this, but with Birchbox you are able to create your profile by selecting things such as your; skin type, skin colour, hair colour etc.. so all the products you receive are personalised to you.

Bits I received:
Stila Lip Glaze - Gleam EN
Beauty Protector - Protect and Detangle Leave in Conditioner
REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewel Mask
Shaveworks The cool fix
Activebod Feel Great Shower Concentrate
Embrace Matcha Green Tea
Birchbox Pilates Band

The box also included some information cards and a little booklet of 12 bite-sized challenges. Some of these challenges also gave tips on how I could use my Birchbox products (which I found quite helpful and motivational)!

By receiving this box every month I hope to find lots of new products to talk to you about!
Have you tried Birchbox? What are your thoughts?
